Position Overview

As a Senior Electrical Engineer at LPS, your primary focus will be on enhancing the electrical system and contributing to the design, installation, testing, and operation of LPS LaserTrain systems. Given that autumn is our peak season, you'll have the opportunity to visit clients in the US or Europe during the autumn, observing our products in action and providing valuable maintenance support.

Responsibilities

• Working collaboratively with 3 experienced electrical engineers, lead developers, and CTO.

• Enhancing electrical design for the 100 kph LaserTrain, covering power electronics to sensor arrangement.

• Developing a production plan for the electrical system, considering buy or build  

• Leading the electrical design and approval process for LaserTrains in EU countries

• Driving standardization, implementing quality control measures following industry standards

• Installing and maintaining LaserTrain systems at client locations during the autumn season.

• Organizing standalone R&D projects.

Requirements

• Completed a technical education in Electrical Engineering.

• Comfortable tackling electrical engineering challenges independently.

• Demonstrated industry experience with CAD software for electrical systems, such as EPlan.

• Familiar with designing power electronics, sensor systems, and managing Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) to ensure the robustness of the electrical systems.

• Ability to articulate solutions to team members outside of your field.

• Hands-on attitude during testing and assembly.

• Clear and effective communication skills in English.

• Having an EU passport or being able to travel to the EU, UK and USA is a plus.

• Experience in the rail industry is a plus.
